from wikipedia:
The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking was a song released as a single by Roger Waters from the album of the same name. It was not a hit. Its meaning consists of the lasting memories of the main character, Reg. During the song, Waters mentions such popular icons as Dick Tracy, Shane, and Yoko Ono. The lyrics have been criticised as misogynistic (referring to an adulterous housewife) and racist (one line, referencing Yoko Ono's Japanese accent, says "The bitch said something mystical: 'Herro'").
Although the song is unquestionably the "catchiest" on the album (hence its choice for release as a single), its lyrics are quite oblique, particularly outside of the context of the album.
