The quintessential one-hit wonder. Unpack your Farfisa and let's rock!!!

And BOS2, Once in a Lifetime.

No sign of vinyl so far.
Let's get right to it.

and not even that big a hit, technically -- like many fondly-remembered New Wave hits of the time, it never made the Top 40.

Really? I wouldn't have guessed--it got a good bit of airplay out here, at least among the crowd I was hanging with.

Quite the proto-New Wave set we've got going here today. What's next--Games Without Frontiers?
Let's get right to it.

I swear I have a tape somewhere where The Kings twin-spin segues straight into this Heads tune.  Felt like weird deja vu there for a second.

Woo hoooo!

Feel that beat & we can ride the boogie...!

it was a big "turntable hit" in NYC as well, as was the Romantics' "What I like About You" -- another beloved tune that failed to crack the Top 40.

BOS MJ, "Rock With You"!

i should really look up the lyrics for this one day. i've been singing it phonetically for years...

...ok, i did it.
They do it down on camber sands
They do it at Waikiki
Lazing about the beach all day,
At night the crickets creepy
Squinting faces at the sky
A Harold Robbins paperback
Surfers drop their boards and dry
And everybody wants a hat
But behind the Chalet
My holiday's complete
And I feel like William Tell
Maid Marian on her tiptoed feet
Pulling mussels from a shell

Shrinking in the sea so cold
Topless ladies look away
A he-man in a sudden shower
Shelters from the rain
You wish you had a motor boat
To pose around the harbour bar
And when the sun goes off to bed
You hook it up behind the car

Two fat ladies window shop
Something for the mantelpiece
In for bingo all the nines
A panda for sweet little niece
The coach drivers stand about
Looking at a local map
About the boy he's gone away
Down to next door's caravan

Interesting comparisons here:

Gary Numan is a borderline Katrina & certainly a Usual Suspect, we've heard it pretty much exactly twice a year for 4 years.

The Kings are pretty much good for one appearance per annum.

That Squeeze tune, unexpectedly, gets far more airplay in regular KFOG rotation than from Dave, with only one previous appearance in the Db.
