Sorry, Annalisa, I really didn't need "Generals & Majors" today. One of the rare cases where the set is superior to the bonus.

I'm listening from afar now.  It's a sitff-ass-funk-dance-a-thon!  (And I mean that with loving kindness.)

Don't pass on Christopher Cross, there's a great Carl Sagan Cosmos lead-in

Still waiting for next steps on the good chance I mentioned a few days ago.  Got a separate interview tomorrow, for something that I probably wouldn't do unless they gave me the $200k District Manager position, and that seems doubtful at best.  I'm treating it like interview practice.

OK, I'm still here and it's good.
Bombs Away was also cool. I would not have known it was Police who I try to avoid, then and now.

wooo hooo Solid Rock.
LOVE this guitar work. Well, you know, pretty much anything Knopfler does.

I don't think I ever caught this line in "I Wanna Be Your Lover" until tonight:
"I wanna be the only one you come for."

Now that's some stiff-ass-funk!

I still take a pass on C. Cross. He's way too soft. Heck, its pretty close to soft enough to really be played in 1980 on KFOG when it was elevator music and I used to fall asleep every time my mother would put KFOG on during this period (thankfully she moved up to light rock a few years later).

I also find that hard to believe -- it was pretty much the most famous thing about the song when it was a hit back in those pre-Nipplegate FCC days.

Note that he precedes it (and partially neuters it) with "I wanna be the one who makes you come... runnin'".

Prince wasn't getting airplay in Seattle until 1982, I don't think.  Anyway that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it.
