DAMN! Jesse Johnson (feat. Sly Stone), "Crazay".

Wow, I haven't heard that since it was on the charts, and couldn't even tell you how it sounds.

Just tuned in to BCO for a bit, just to see how far along they were (they're in the H's) and happened to hear a live version of the Beat Farmers doing Happy Boy. And before that was Willie Nelson. Which really has me wondering just what kinds of stuff they have in their archives. Sounds like they've really got a trove of stuff there.
Let's get right to it.

OMGWTF2: Kevin Johnson's orig version of "Rock'n'Roll (I Gave You the Best Years of My Life)", later made a hit by Mac Davis.

"I asked my friends about her, but all they lips was tight."  The Queen sings again -- "Lucille".

I didn't think tight lips had ever been a problem for Ms. Penniman.

I didn't know (until Little Steven mentioned it Sunday) that the orig lyric of "Tutti Frutti" was "tutti frutti/good booty" LOL!

and speaking of loose lips, CG plays Georgie M, "A Different Corner":

"little by little, you brought me to my kneees..."

Perhaps Messrs Michael & Penniman could do a duet: "30 Days in Your Hole".

Did he quote the rest?  "If it don't fit / You can force it / You can grease it / Make it easy," or something like that.  Wowsers.

Nuthin' Goin On But Gwen Guthrie!  No romance without finance!

and now Jackie Wilson's "Sweetest Feeling", but this version is a duet between him and... Who?  Spliced together after-the-fact, I'm guessing.

Marvin's orig of "Wherever I lay My hat", a more upbeat version than the one Paul Young had a huge UK hit with in the '80s.
