I have completed my Darryl archive spreadsheet

Mshray, mshray on the wall,
What is the biggest Katrina of all?

(Or should we lay bets first?)

Oh, y'alls should definitely lay bets.  But one thing I noticed is that Dave isn't real consistent about his years, f'rinstance one song show up 8 times in '84 and then twice more in '83.

But then again Huey is now nearly twice the Katrina in '85 that Katrina herself is.

Confucius say: "If Huey is inevitable, lay back and enjoy him."

Confucius must have a *huge* mangina then.

ROTFL!!!!!

Do either of you know the original quote I was parodying, and how it became infamous in NYC in the late '70s?

sounds vaguely familiar...but no.

There was a popular TV weather guy in NY -- "Tex" Antoine, a legend in the biz, he'd been doing weather, at that point, for 20 years -- and one night during the late news in (I think) 1977, they did a story about a rapist on the loose.  "Tex" followed with the weather, and he started by saying "Confucius say, if rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it".  He actually thought that was funny. He never worked again.

I'd heard the essence of the quote, sans the Confucius, attributed to Bobby Knight, I think during the '80s.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

I believe that the five ultimate Katrinas will prove to be, in order:

1. FYC, "Good Thing"
2. Huey Lewis & the News, "The Power of Love"
3. Neville Bros, "Yellow Moon"
4. Robbie Nevil, "C'est la Beej"
5. Cock Throbbin', "When Your Flow Is Weak"
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

So maybe we should start calling them "Hueys"... or "P.O.L.s"
