It's funny but "Cruel to be Kind" just makes me think of High School... even though I was out of college by the time this came out.
Now I'm eight bits...

I know it's a Katrina but I'm still a sucker for Cruel to be Kind. Can't help it.

And in the TANC column, I was doing some research on Wales last night (we're going there next month) and found that Ian Gomm has been living there for like 20 years. And that he cowrote this song with Nick. Ya learn something every day.
Let's get right to it.

BOS Third World, not everyone knows this is an O'Jays cover.

Yesterday Judge on KPOO played them covering James Brown's "Talkin' Loud & Sayin' Nuthin""

And I'm not exactly sure why I despise it.  But I do.  Nails on a chalkboard.

So this post-Floyd tune could be Styx--or it could be one of those Canadian semi-prog bands that came after Rush like Triumph. Betting it's the latter.

ETA: Per the Top 40 Hits site, there were two songs called Hold On that charted in '79--Ian Gomm's (TANC pt. II) and this one. And yeah, it's Triumph.

Which brings up the question: will we get the Hold On twin-spin?

Nah.
Let's get right to it.

Made me flash back to Animal House, where a very young Kevin Bacon is trying to keep the peace in the climactic mayhem of the final scene.

Thank you sir, may I have another.
