Couple post-emptive thoughts:
"Fisherman's Blues" actually played a role in my weekend, being played several times by others on a jukebox after our draft. My closest friends have wildly divergent musical tastes in music, and "Fisherman's Blues" is the only one that they all agree on. It was also a personal favorite of my friend Brandon's.
The Pogues are indeed reunited with Shane and touring, and my Voice colleague Darren, who follows the band very closesly, insists that Shane's doing much better now, though he can still be combative at the drop of a hat.
Dave went with the wrong Corrs track. "Breakaway," as y'all noted, was horribly derivative, and a blatant attempt to break into the teen-tartlet market since the girls got the look. Their previous songs were a LOT better; I would have recommended their cover (with guest Bono vox) of Ryan Adams's "When the Stars Go Blue" (a song which has now been covered again, this time by Tim McGraw; I'm dying to hear it).
Hope you all had much fun celebrating the luck o' the Irish (a cruelly ironic phrase if ever I've heard one).
