I'm gonna say either 1967 or 1972.  I know, wimpy to hedge my bets.

so do you win half a point for hedging correctly?

With that avatar you are now both a princess and a goddess, so I suppose I should let you decide!

:)   :D   :)  :D

well, since your crystal ball led us to the moody blues, i'll give you a whole point!

Thanks Judy!

Was really hoping for 72--and got it. This has been Dave's week to pick up some of the long-absent years. 75 (classic notwithstanding), 86, and now 72. Nice.

Btw, Dave started early again--I turned on at 9:57 and he was already handing out the birthday batons. Chik-o-stix again.

If Dave counts at all (I'm not convinced he does), I'm sure classics don't enter into it.

I picture a big blackboard in the production room with all the years on it and check marks when they're played (classics included).  It's certainly not random, and he (usually) manages to hit every "must-play" year  every 4-6 weeks or so. It's unusual for him to hit something twice in 2 weeks (as he did with '75 last week) unless a special request is involved.

driving around the Winterland neighborhood, looking for parking; in the mood before a GD show, and this song comes on the radio.  Dripping with heavy consciousness.  Well, you had to be there.

I never liked them much, but at least you can say they had a strong bass line!  Sounds good now.  I just always  thought they were ripping off Sons of Champlin. Ironic, isn't it?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0413300/

They're bringing in the Gwen Stacey character, to be played by Ron Howard's luminescent daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard.

re Spiderman 3

Indeed I had heard that!

That whole arc was a big deal back in the day.

I don't have quite such a specific vision of how they do it, but yeah, I agree--certain years pop up too consistently every 4 weeks or so to be totally random. And it seems like 70 thru 73 have now become special/really old/Friday years, lumped in with 67 thru 69. It's rare that those years come up in the middle of a week, or so it seems.
Let's get right to it.

I think it's more like "I haven't done '72 in a while."  Or whatever year.  So everything gets into the rotation eventually.  But I don't think there's a big blackboard somewhere.  Could be wrong.

But I don't think he counts "classic" sets.
