Weird that Dave goes themey two days in a row.  No idea what to expect; March 198X is far harder to summon in memory than, say, June.

indeed; wish I had my Billboard Charts handy.

This does increase the possibility of a '60 set tomorrow, tho'.

VHM Dolly, who has a 1-in-3 chance of snagging a Best Song Oscar on Sunday.

Three actually--Mardi Gras, yesterday's set o' Mystery, and todays VT.

Yeah, possible 60s set tomorrow, but we haven't hit the late 80s or 90s yet this week either. Which would be fine by me, but it hasn't happened lately. Crossing fingers.
Let's get right to it.

I don't really consider "Set O' Mystery" a "theme set".  And, technically, we're hitting the late '80s today.  Just my contrarian nature.

Four years/songs in (Floyd, Dolly, Joan J. and the Durannies) and not a clinker so far. Can't expect that to continue all the way thru the wasteland of 85-87, but so far so good.
Let's get right to it.

are these all #1's? or just "on the charts that week"? 'cause I know Floyd, Dolly & Joan all hit #1 at some point.

Never mind:DD and HL weren't #1 singles.

DD: peaked # 3
HL:  peaked # 6 (but Ray Parker hit #1 with its clone, "Ghostbusters")

and here's another #1: Jailbird George, "Careless Whisper"
