"Kanye West doesn't care about white people!"

Bill Maher stole the above line and used it last nite.

In other news, Mayor Newsom and his wife welcomed their new baby daughter yesterday. They named her... Montana. (!?!)  Somebody *please* tell me that either AL or Rosalie played the Zappa tune on Friday afternoon...

the couple was married at the Siebel family ranch in Montana a few years ago.   (Some trolls and ignoramuses on the SFGate comments were saying things like "OMG, he named his daughter after Joe Montana??  are you kidding me?")

Well, just call me "Iggy Troll"!  Hopefully, by the time she gets to middle school, Hannah Montana will be long-forgotten.
I first thought of Hannah Montana, then remembered the ranch connection.
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

my sister-n-law's step daughter has a half sister named Montana.  seems to be a sort of a popular name these days, along the lines of Dakota, Dylan, Cory, Cody, Cassidy, Madison, Tyler, Riley, etc.

Calvin Trillin's bitingly ironic take on l'affaire Polanski:

I don't care! she's still my man crush!  :)

Maybe she's rebelling against her conservative son, Alex P. Keaton..
So I guess the breaded husband really WAS a bearded husband:

Hard to believe that of all the people in that picture, the most Hollywood longevity belongs to Justine Bateman's little brother.

Paging Alicat. Tyler is checking himself into rehab, addicted to prescription painkillers.

So maybe Aerosmith isn't quite broken up yet after all?
Let's get right to it.

He has totally joined the ranks of decrepitude. Dude looks like a broken down old man.

Annie Savoy and Nuke LaLoosh are splitsville.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2009/12/23/entertainment/e125958S27.DTL

That's too bad, I greatly admire them both.  But this should also go into the Copyedit 101 thread:

"Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, partners for 23 years [etc.]...met while shooting the 1988 film Bull Durham."

ummm, if 1988 was 23 years ago it would now be 2011.

Unless they filmed it in '86 and it wasn't released until '88.

Conan says NO:

http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-conan-obrien-story,0,1066145.story

I admit I don't follow these things too closely, but why does Jay Leno seem to have NBC by the 'nads?   Last time I checked, the dude was pretty bad.  Not funny, smarmy to the extreme, he used to be a horrible interviewer, just looking for places to drop his one-liners.
