a bos for me! is it jeff beck?

With Jan Hammer.

BOS of a pretty fine '80 set so far.

So I guess Rod, Urth & I all have this album.  Side 1, Track 1.

OOoohhh, another BOS for the clip from Altered States.  Professor Eddie Jessup was William Hurt's first screen role.  Ken Russell directing a Paddy Chayefsky sreenplay.  That's a lot of talent.

But it would have been interesting to see what they would have said if John Hinckley Jr.  had succeeded.  Cuz that boy was nuts.

Was he?  I thought the consensus was that he's been faking it all this time in order to have an easier quasi-prison life.

I think the consensus (what with the Jodie Foster obsession & all) is that he wasn't exactly sane. But it being a Presidential assassination attempt, America was outraged that the insanity defense was allowed at all.

Mine cut out, about 10 notes into Narada.  Let me know if I missed anything -- it'd be my luck to miss Dave closing with "Pilot of the Airwaves."

Great Jodie quote in EW, regarding being an aging actress in H'wood: "I want to play all those roles that Simone Signoret played when she got old."

You betcha--prog rock at its finest. Saw Beck and an extremely hot band at the Greek in Sept of 1980. Then saw Yes (with the Buggles subbing for Jon Anderson & Rick Wakeman) the next week, and the Kinks the night after that. Rocktober indeed.
Let's get right to it.

Narada was good, but it's T.M. Stevens that makes this song.  I think we've covered this territory last time, but that was a damn fine bass performance.

"Making Plans For Nigel" & "Pulling Mussels From A Shell" are always inextricably linked in my mind.

Maybe Dave's too.

A Clunker-free set.  "Strange but Likeable" sez Dave.

Yo Dave!  Listen to your inner Deejay.  'Strange' is good!  'Normal' is boring!
