to the above I'd would add: I thought Pacino should've been nommed for Best Actor for G3 and not Supp for DT. He'd've given Irons stiff competition and mighta won, given his many previous snubs.  He's certainly better in G3 than Scent of an Oscar...

agreed.  And if only Winona Ryder hadn't pulled out (or at least if Francis hadn't recast the role with his daughter Sofia), G3 might've won Best Picture.  But I never heard of anyone who could suspend their disbelief at Andy Garcia's Vincent being compelled to have an incestuous affair with Sofia Coppola's Mary.  With a 19-yr-old Winona (fresh off of Edward Scissorhands) that might have been possible.  And when Mary dies, presumably the audience wouldn't have been happy.
