ETA:  Dave does go to 1990 far less frequently, but even so there are 4 songs that are duped in his last 4 sets & one that is triplicated.  And we haven't been since March 7, so we are probably overdue, maybe even as soon as today.

Oops, I forgot to check the sets this month that I haven't added yet, and I totally forgot that we went there last Wednesday.  Guess it wasn't a memorable set...

...or maybe it was just my failing memory.  That was actually a pretty good set, with Woman In Chains & Snap.  And by changing the mix to include it & exclude the set from last Sept the balance improves quite a bit, the triplicated song being only a dupe and two other dupes going away.

Awakenings & Ghost are two of the worst Best Pic noms ever!  Reversal of Fortune, Grifters, and even Misery would have been better. Dances is arguably the kind of movie AMPAS likes to see win, and it seems to have held up prety well, but Goodfellas was, is & always will be a superior film.

Annette Bening acted circles aroung Whoopi, and was painfully robbed. Every other nominee had better craft & was more deserving.  Jennifer Jason Leigh (Miami Blues) is at least one actress who deserved the nom that Whoopi got (although Whoopi was herself robbed for Color Purple).

I'll never forget Siskel & Ebert's 'If We Gave Out the Oscars' show this year.  Siskel was all over Ghost for generally sucking in their 'Worst Nomination' segment, but Ebert said his Worst Nom was this one for Cyrano:  "How in the world can you give a nomination to someone for giving a really ugly big nose...to an actor who has already got one!?"
