except it pre-dates both.  ;)  This was supposed to be the big "skiffle" revival of 1970 but it never went beyond this one hit.

BOS/proxy of Gaz, Edwin Starr -- good GAWD y'all!

"induction -- then destruction!"

Newsflash! This set originally aired before the scope of the DB--there's only one set in there that leads with In the Summertime, and Edwin Starr is not the second song of that set, Wilbert Harrison's Let's Work Together is. So we're going back a bit here.

are you guys raising eyebrows here because it's usually Fridays that are reserved for 60s or very early 70s sets?

Does Dave stick to a map of sorts?  Does this 1970 here increase the chances of some lame-ass 80s and 90s sets happening tomorrow and Friday?

Always wondered how Dave kept track of how long it had been since a year was last visited. A calendar maybe? And I'd have to guess that yes, the chances of getting at least one more-recent year tomorrow or Friday are pretty high now that we've just been to '70.

Friday is, traditionally, the day for "old" years, usually '60s  -- this dates back to the beginnings of 10@10 when they used to do "Fifties Friday". I always suspected it was an excuse for Dave to go home early, since the songs were so short, but clearly Dave likes to end his weeks with sets he really enjoys doing.  Friday also became a day for theme sets like instrumentals.

ETA: I also always assumed Dave had a calendar of some sort of tracking board to make sure that years came up more or less evenly... but Greg told mshray that Dave goes totally on memory and instinct, iirc.

I would say no b/c I couldn't sit through much of crocheted-cape-on-a-goat Stevie without feeling like she was casting a bad spell on me.  Lindsay is great (I saw him last summer at Mtn winery -- same show for which Ali won tix), but no Christie?  Oh, Daddy!

worth it?  It's hard to say, considering how expensive tickets are these days.  Barring financial concerns, I expect nothing less than a kick-ass, professional show, with lots of Greatest Hits, of which there are too many.  Hopefully they will include pre Buckingham/Nicks FM tunes.
