LAWD! BOS6 Ree-Ree -- no Sunday-go-to-meetin' hat necessary.

"...and ah love you TOO!"

This really is evolving into a pretty amazing set. One more BOS for 'Retha.

ETA: And the hits just keep on coming: Smokey and his best song ever, Tears of a Clown. Cue the bassoon!

(And the BOS-soon.)

Did anyone else notice someone in the crowd yesterday wearing a black t-shirt with the standard image of Obama's bust, and the letters 'BOS' on it in large white caps?  Wonder what that was about, certainly not our BOS.

So if the birthday boy was born in '70 and was 31 when this aired, then we can assume this set dates to 2001.
Let's get right to it.

ETA: Should be worth hanging around for the bonus track today, too.

ETA2: Oh yeah. A to Z. No bonus track. D'OH!

1/21/09 - Midweek!  A ten tune trip to...1970!!!

1.  Mungo Jerry - In the Summertime
2.  Edwin Starr - War
3.  George Harrison - Awaiting on You All (BEST OF SET!)
4.  Three Dog Night - Out in the Country
5.  Van Morrison - Moondance
6.  Jackson 5 - I Want You Back
7.  The Kinks - Victoria
8.  Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well, Pt. 1 & 2 (BEST OF SET!!)
9.  Aretha Franklin - Call Me
10.  Smokey Robinson - Tears of a Clown

For those who missed it, not only a great set, but the first one since Dave moved to Michigan that was not already in the Db.

Always wondered how Dave kept track of how long it had been since a year was last visited. A calendar maybe?

I've asked him that question twice in person, and both times he said, "No, not really."
I also asked since we have the Shraytabase to refer to...he made it sound like he picked randomly, based on memory for recency.

Back atcha & likewise!

I should add that "Tears Of A Clown" is my all-time second favorite #1 hit.  I only rank "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" ahead of it on my list.  And Mungo Jerry is my third favorite #3 song of all time.
