it's a marvelous night for a moondance out in the country in the summertime.
A summer pear would really hit the spot tonight.

Motown at the top of their game: BOS3, J5, I Want You Back. Such a seamless groove in this one.
Let's get right to it.

Damn.  That's what I was looking for.  I had to go back and search since "summer peach" sure didn't sound right.

This set is getting better and better--BOS4 the Kinks. Who else would do a rock song about a long dead British queen?

Land of hope and glory-a, land of my Victoria!

1970 on a Wednesday, hmmm...
there's no rhyme or reason while Dave's away.

are you guys raising eyebrows here because it's usually Fridays that are reserved for 60s or very early 70s sets?

Does Dave stick to a map of sorts?  Does this 1970 here increase the chances of some lame-ass 80s and 90s sets happening tomorrow and Friday?

Heard 1-7 in the car, now at my desk for the last part.  BOS Kinks & VHM everything else (even Moondance in it's natural context).

And up yet another notch: BOS5, Fleetwood Mac, Oh Well.

Hoping for the lo-o-o-o-o-o-ng version. Also that Geoff is still hanging around.

Newsflash! This set originally aired before the scope of the DB--there's only one set in there that leads with In the Summertime, and Edwin Starr is not the second song of that set, Wilbert Harrison's Let's Work Together is. So we're going back a bit here.

I was rather sure of that by the end of that Vietnam newsclip montage.  The rest of the way driving I became more and more convinced.

Always wondered how Dave kept track of how long it had been since a year was last visited. A calendar maybe? And I'd have to guess that yes, the chances of getting at least one more-recent year tomorrow or Friday are pretty high now that we've just been to '70.
