Ooooh, here's some tasty Alan Parsons.

Ah yes.  I remember wondering when this was released how they got Ray Davies to do vocals? Whoever the singer is (uncredited on the record I think) is sure aping Ray's vocal style.

And I love this Norman Whitfield homage/rip-off part.

LOL!  I think this is close enough to a JINX ...

I read it as one--you were both obviously thinking along the same lines!
Let's get right to it.

Veering off-topic b/c I'm reading Billboard while listening: Def Leppard is releasing a covers album later this year.

does anyone feel the need to hear DL do ANY of those songs?

BOS: The Muppet Show!!!

wassa matta wid joo? Only a middle-aged gay man would, out of all the Muppet Show guests, pick Rita Moreno. LOL!

Although of all the Muppet show guests he could possibly pick, she may be the one most likely to be actually listening, as she lives in Berkeley. (Was Robin Williams ever on the Muppet Show?)
Let's get right to it.

OK, I think that was the problem. Too many vocalists to choose from to possibly narrow it down. But definitely not Ray Davies.
Let's get right to it.

Has Linda Ronstadt move to Arizona permanently?  I thought she was in Pacific Heights at one time.  A friend of mine was the Biggest. Linda. Fan. Ever. and her appearance on TMS was the happiest day of his life.

the only ones that piqued my interest (slightly) are:

"20th Century Boy" (T. Rex)
"Don't Believe a Word" (Thin Lizzy)
"Hellraiser" (Sweet)
"How Does It Feel" (Slade)
"Kick Out the Jams" (MC5)

The ones that make me cringe in anticipation of a disaster are:

"No Matter What" (Badfinger)
"Rock On" (David Essex)
"Stay With Me" (The Faces)
"Street Life" (Roxy Music)
"The Golden Age of Rock & Roll" (Mott The Hoople)
"Hanging on the Telephone" (Blondie)
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

Nice work from Heatwave on this.  I like the disconnected opening and the production is top-notch.
