5 Nov 2012: it's... 1997
« on: November 05, 2012, 07:50:33 AM »
I'm gonna assume '80s and hope for '70s.

If it's an unpromising year, I'll switch to The Sound -- they're doing '73 today.

1997 -- bye!  Blur with one of the 2 most-obvious TOTHKs (the other being Mighty Mighty Bosstones). Feh.

LN1 Blur.
LN2 Sarah McLesbian.
LN3 Foo Fighters, although not as LN-y as the previous two.

I want to hear Barbie Girl.

Bittersweet Symphony pretty unnecessary too. Was that Ellen on the Ellen show? What happened to the bit where she announces she's gay over the PA in the airport? I don't remember this clip, and I was a fan.

Haha, MMBosstones are making Mike roll over in his grave, and he's not even dead.

I don't mind hearing the song...though I don't understand why the dude is so worried about knocking on wood. What's the big deal?

Uber LN's 4 & 5 to The Verve and the MMB.

I'll give a lukewarm BOS to the Rolling Stones, just because.  Hits 106 was all over this one back then.

I'm not too thrilled about Sugarrhea or the Indigos.  LN 6 & 7.
Today's clips are going on forever.

Hey! What's this? NTM, at least marginally interesting. Luscious Jackson perhaps?

Well, this certainly came out of nowhere.  Sounds like Jill Scott.

1. Blur - Song Two
(TV: Ellen is gay. Shocker.)
2. Sarah McLachlan - Building A Mystery
3. Foo Fighters - Everlong
(News: Gianni Versace shot in Miami -- and his body, too)
4. The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
5. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Impression That I Get
6. The Rolling Stones - Anybody Seen My Baby?
(Movie: Titanic takes a journey for a mystery - not with Sarah McLachlan though. Hint, the boat sinks.)
7. Sugar Ray - Fly
8. Indigo Girls - Get Out The Map
(Monica, the whore, talks about Bill to Linda, the shrew about cum on her dress)
9. Marcy Playground - Sex and Candy
10. Erykah Badu - On & On

wow, what an LN-fest, except for Erykah Badu.  Even taking into account the fact that AL's '97 sets weren't great (see: MM Bosstones) this was pitiful.
