I have a great memory of seeing Romeo Void at a national college radio convention in Wash DC 1980.
that must've been fun.
Also on the bill, The Plimsouls, a fun LA band.

Now we're talkin': TOP!

this is sounding funky.  serious head bob going on here.
Serious contact high, first half of the set at least.
OH NOOOOO!!!!!  Not "Lights".  Talk about a buzzkill.

But it's the anthem of The Bay!

As I once posted, Journey is the poster band for Retro Douche. Certainly the Steve Perry version.

I have a great memory of seeing Romeo Void at a national college radio convention in Wash DC 1980.

I have a great memory of meeting Deborah Iyall and her husband (and her mother and a family friend) while eating at The Obrero Hotel, a long gone Basque boarding house on Stockton.   Diners sit at a communal table, so we had to talk with each other, and it was a good hour into dinner when we realized who she was.

She told us she was in a band, and I mentioned I was from back east and named the city (Rochester).  "Oh we played there!" she said.

"Really? what was your band's name?"

"Romeo Void...." she said, a little hesitantly, just in case we never heard of it.

my girlfriend let out a yelp, dropped her fork, stood up and nearly jumped across the table to hug her.  "I thought you were her!"

they gave us a ride home!

I fear to see the comments on Facebook - something along the lines of - Awesome! - the Tubes!

And it could definitely be worse:  you don't like the raw fish song, do you?

And actually, I will backtrack a bit on Journey, since they did get even worse in years to come.  But I was such a huge Journey fan from 75 - 78 (must have seen them 8 times), that the switch to pop left me bitter.
