Tue 7/12/11: a Mystery theme...

I Saw Her Standing There - Beatles
déjà vu - Crosby Stills Nash & Young
Bang the Drum - Todd Rundgren
Good Lovin' - Rascals
Yer So Bad - Tom Petty
Land of 1000 Dances - Wilson Pickett
I Just Want to Celebrate - Rare Earth
Instant Karma - John Lennon
Wooly Bully - Sam the Sham…
Vertigo - U2

I'm clueless... but apropos of DC's changes at KFOG, KINK (where DC used to be PD) also did "guess the connection" 10@10s. Wonder if he's approached AL with that idea. It certainly would encourage people to stay tuned for the entire set.

they all feature count offs of some sort: "one, two, three, four"  (or variations thereof)

It could have certainly used some Rush, that's for sure!

Jeff Starship - can I call that a guilty pleasure?  I like it, same with Eric Clapton.  I can stand that one by him.  Journey has made worse.  (I will always heart Journey, they were my first rock concert.)  At least Phil Collin's has the EWF horns... again, it's not a disaster in my book, but I never bought his other Motown attempt:  Remember the You Can't Hurry Love video?   That really turned me off, it was more clown than Motown.

I'm forever tired of these specific songs by Stevie Nicks, The Go-Go's, and Tom Petty.  They can be added to my 'Don't ever need to hear again' list.  AC/DC's Dirty Deeds is too gimmicky.

Fri 7/15/11: Carmageddon!!

Drive My Car - Beatles
Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix
Cars - Gary Numan
Can't Find My Way Home - Blind Faith
Slow Ride - Foghat
Drive - Cars
Can't Get There From Here - REM
Traffic Jam - James Taylor
I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
Take the Long Way Home - Supertramp

given the inspiration (google it if you don't know what "carmageddon" is) that's a fairly clever set. May have to listen tonite. They really shoulda played "Walking in LA", tho'.
