Happy B'day Chuck Berry, 84
« on: October 18, 2010, 06:46:28 AM »
Chuck Berry turns 84 today! http://www.chuckberry.com/about/bio.htm
What's your favorite Chuck Berry song? (you can only name one): http://www.chuckberry.com/music/songs.htm
I'd say 'Rock & Roll Music' (the Beatles AND Beach Boys were both smart enough to cover it).
BTW, other '50's music stars still alive: Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Chubby Checker, Everly Brothers, Dion, Pat Boone, Johnny Mathis, Paul Anka, Neil Sedaka, Connie Francis, Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Fabian, Bobby Rydell, Debbie Reynolds.

Tough pick. I can narrow it down to three: Memphis, Tennessee; Promised Land, and Brown-eyed Handsome Man. If forced to pick just one, probably the last one.
Let's get right to it.

We always do a Chuck song at our Laguna Honda gigs, usually Promised Land.  I often introduce it as a 'benediction from Reverend Chuck Berry!'
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!
