Austin "Bob" week of 3/15/10
« on: March 15, 2010, 08:37:07 AM »
Mon 3/15/10: 1977

Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr-You Don't Have To Be A Star
Steve Miller Band -Jet Airliner
10CC -Things We Do For Love
Climax Blues Band -Couldn't Get It Right
Van Morrison -Moondance
Electric Light Orchestra -Telephone Line
Peter Gabriel -Solsbury Hill
Ted Nugent -Cat Scratch Fever
Barbara Streisand -Evergreen (Theme To "A Star Is Born)

For those of you saying "WTF?", Van's "Moondance" was re-released as a single in '77 thanks to the phenomenon of "passive research" -- radio stations calling people up and asking them to name favorite songs unprompted (this was all the rage for a brief period in the late '70s). "Moondance", "Send in the Clowns" and "Have You Never Been mellow" got 2nd lives at radio because of this practice.

Wed 3/17/10: 1999

yikes, "Bob" seems to be doing more '90s and less '70s years.  Hard to "Believe" Cher was #1 this week 11 years ago...  Where would T-Pain be without that record?

Vertical Horizon -Everything You Want
Blink-182 -All The Small Things
Santana/Rob Thomas -Smooth
Smash Mouth -All Star
Lenny Kravitz -Fly Away
Macy Gray -I Try
Fatboy Slim -Praise You
Red Hot Chili Peppers -Scar Tissue
