Neil Young's Birthday
==================
1. Down By The River
2. Hello Mr Soul - Buffalo Springfield
3. Heart of Gold  --- one of two Neil songs I can think of that start with "I want to live.."
4. Downtown - (from Mirror Ball) -- sort of NTM... basic, raw, I like it.
5. Unknown Legend -- I occurs to me that Mercury Rev's singing style owes a bit to Neil.  I'll throw Flaming Lips and Polyphonic Spree in there, too, among many others.
6. Like a Hurricane
7. Lotta Love -- BOS!
8. Ohio - CSNY
9. Only Love Can Break Your Heart  (live) - CSNY BOS2
10. Expecting To Fly - Buffalo Springfield BOS3!!!

not to mention what's-his-name from America -- lots of people thought "Horse With No Name" was Neil at first.

BOS "Lotta Love"

I'd've preferred "War Song" (Neil's ode to McGovern) to the too-often-heard "O-H-I-O".

nice live take on "Only Love can Break Your Heart" -- another fave mondegreen; I first thought he was saying his friend hides his head "inside a tree" rather than "inside a dream".
