I think Gerry and Carole had a good grasp on what the audience wanted to hear, regardless of their bank balance.

O.M.G. Uber-BOS, the Kinks magnum opus, Waterloo Sunset. If ever a song evoked London in my mind, this is the one.

I too enjoyed this.  Made me wonder again about whether it's really worth buying the Beatles' reissues in mono.
