The Sound (LA), 5/05/09: 1993
« on: May 15, 2009, 10:18:38 AM »
Radiohead, Aerosmith, someone I didn't pay attention to, and now Sheryl Crow. Nothing too adventurous so far, but here's hoping.
Let's get right to it.

Yeah, this isn't a song I hear a lot on the radio (Anna Begins) but nonetheless, there has to be some better songs than this to characterize '93.

OK, getting there, slowly. Porno for Pyros, Pets.

looks pretty Moreyish.  If Larry plays Haddaway you'll know he's using old Dave setlists for inspiration.

a Perry Farrell/Stephen Perkins twin-spin after "Been Caught Stealing" on KFOG.

Here's one Dave onlyplayed once, "Low" by Cracker.

BOS #2 (#1 was PFP, but I forgot to say so).

Ugh, Cranberries. This set is not going the way I'd hoped. Would love to hear Dan Baird or maybe Jayhawks (and I'll keep saying that til someone plays them) but my hopes are not high for either. Looks like the Cracker and Porno are going to be the high points. I'm figuring we'll hear Nirvana or REM before this is done, too.
Let's get right to it.

Still firmly in familiar territory: Get ready to haver, we're walking 500 Miles.
Let's get right to it.

I can give the Sundays Belly (I always mess those two up) one more BOS.

Ah, Return to Innocence by Enigma was the one I was not paying attention to. Thoroughly underwhelming set:

5/15 - 1993

Creep - Radiohead
Crazy - Aerosmith
Return to Innocence - Enigma
Anna Begins - Counting Crows
Leaving Las Vegas - Sheryl Crow
Pets - Porno for Pyros
Low - Cracker
Dreams - Cranberries
500 Miles - Proclaimers
Feed the Tree - Belly

But at least no Haddaway to be heard!
Let's get right to it.

BOS to Porno's Pets
and Cracker's Low

don't recognize the Belly, but the other stuff makes me yawn and change the dial

the Belly was a Live 105 staple in '93; I think KFOG ignored it at the time.
