I have no idea what this is following up Fast Car, something about 'it ain't no big thing" female vocals & generic power pop a la Survivor.

Ex-Runaway Lita Ford, I believe, Kiss Me Deadly.
Let's get right to it.

Back into more familiar territory: Steve Winwood (Roll With It), followed by Jane's Addiction's Jane Says.
Let's get right to it.

Now it's REALLY familiar: TTD, Kiss and Tell. Larry's been cribbing Dave's playbook.
Let's get right to it.

"Jane Says" was '88?  It was an overly familiar part of my college experience, so I assumed it was '91 or '92.

Their second album was '90, but this was from their major label debut.  (My copy of which is signed by Perry & Steven the drummer!)

Next up: Melissa E, but it's a song that's not in the DB, although I'd be shocked if Dave hadn't played it somewhere in the past. Like The Way I Do, another of those first-person songs that could be directed at either sex.
Let's get right to it.

BOS #2 Cult of Personality.

WTH is Vernon up to these days, anyway?

Cult of Personality gets my BOS, but Dave always played this in '89. Another case of "year of release" instead of when it charted.
Let's get right to it.

According to his wikipedia entry, session work, producing, and occasional live stuff, but mostly jazz. And didn't Living Colour play out last year? Not sure if he was involved or not.

ETA: According to Living Colour's wiki, they're back together and Reid is a member.

Oh. My. Freakin'. GAWD! An ATBB, one of my very fave singles of that year and surely one of the best rock singles of the '80s -- right up there with Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself For Lovin' You" (which is also from '88).  Kudos to Larry.
