eeek! 'LNG plays Starship's nearly-worthless "Sara", surely one of the worst #1's of the '80s. "storms are brewing in your eyes" -- really?  And yet "We Built This City" is the one people hate. Yeesh.

Spyder Turner's cover of "Stand By Me", in which he does fair-to-middling impressions of Jackie Wilson, David Ruffin, Billy Stewart, Smokey Robinson, Chuck Jackson.  Def one of the odder Top 40 hits of the '60s

Whaa? just below the guitar logo, no?  if not, close and re-load.  OMFG, David Soul's "Silver Lady", a #1 UK hit that did nothing over here (he's the guest this weekend on the retro-chart show).

I've always had a soft spot for MJ's "Man in the Mirror".  Make that change (we can believe in)!

ETA: although all that "sha-maw!" stuff was the beginning of self-parody.

Oy, the Love Affair version of "Everlasting love" -- worst. mondegreening. EVAH.

Robert Knight's was the second-best "Everlasting Love," topped only by Carl Carlton's smash remake.  Gloria E comes in third, Love Affair a distant last.  (I've still never heard U2's version!)
