Judge is doing a 4-hour Isaac Hayes tribute on KPOO. Could be worth a listen -- he's including other artists that Hayes produced.

"Sweet Sweet Music" indeed -- an Isaac Hayes/Millie Jackson duet that's new to me.

Followed by a Hayes production: Linda Clifford's "Shoot Your Best Shot".

A few weeks ago I posted about a Jerry Butler/Brenda Lee Eager duet of "Close to You" that I said was "very Hayes-ish". And now here's Isaac's own version!

followed by an Isaac Hayes production: Mabel John, "Your Good Thing Thing is About To Come To an End". Lawd have mercy!

OMFG! another early Isaac Hayes production: 1966's "Patch My Heart (and Start All Over)" by the Mad Lads -- which appears to be the basis of Color Me Badd's "All 4 Love"!!!

CGSS plays one of my fave forgotten philly-soul classics: Chi-Lites, "Stoned Out of My Mind"

"I was just a back-seat driver in a car of love..."

followed by the Ross-less Supes, "Floy Joy".

Your body! My body! Everybody work your body!  CGSS gives us "Let's All Chant". Whoop! Whoop!

For years I thought "Everybody work your body" was "Everybody wants your body"

Another orig version: Betty Everett's "Gettin' Mighty Crowded", which is yet another Isaac Hayes composition iirc.

WLNG Nugget: creepy Gary Puckett helps yet another girl become a woman, now.

ETA: meanwhile Frankie Valli goes the other way: he never laid a hand on her, but his eyes adored her. And his nose abhorred her.

CBS-FM's "Hall of fame" feature today is (naturally, since the anniv of his death is tomorrow): Elvis. And here's the great "Kentucky Rain".
