my first time listening to this station's version of 10@10 (I'm off work today).  DJ ginger gets right to it, not any real build-in, birthday wishes, Don Pardo wheel spin, sponsor announcement.   Dave Morey's kick start to 10@10 is pretty cool, when you think of it.  I now realize how fun the start to KFOG's 10@10  really is~

Indeed, Dave's is more festive and has far more news-film-TV-and-other clips. And Dave is WAY more overtly political.  But Ginger and Rob's late-'80s/early-'90s sets are more interesting musically. Our biggest complaint here (and you'll see this referenced a LOT) is that in those years Dave seems detached from pop culture and relies too heavily on songs that were in KFOG rotation at the time. So (as yesterday's '87 set showed) we're likely to get far more "repeat offenders" like Crowded House and Robbie Nevil.

I was actually crawling the web for mentions of another KFOG air personality  -- just to see if anyone else out there has the same "issues" that I have with this person -- and found your site in google results.

I think you're exactly right about Dave's 80s and 90s sets.  If I had to program an 80s or 90s set myself, I might be a little predictable, too.  Keeping current on something as broad as pop music can take a lot of energy.  But then, again, Dave is a professional DJ so ... yeah, I suppose he could do better w those.

Okay, dish on the personality you have issues with.  We're friendly to each other, but also pretty snarky to everyone else at times.

Mr Winwood channels Jr Walker. But by '88 the look-at-me-I-love-Motown thing was a rather tired trope.

Unlike in yesterday's INXS tune, there's no ambiguity about what Perry Farrell means by "I'm gonna kick tomorrow".
