WOS3 Survivor "Eye of the Burning Tiger Heart"

Kool & the Gang's "Emergency" is one you never hear... and with good reason.

Elton and George wrap her up... and stuff her in the trunk of their car. No wonder EJ defended Eminem.

Hour 3, WOS4: The Goat. "a wound gets worse when it's treated with neglect" -- so does a voice, Stevie.

WOS5 Glenn Frey.

Olay your Hans, Brinker!

VHM Dionne & Friends, "That's What Coke Dealers Are For"  BOS3 Scritti Politti.

This week That '70s Casey goes to Dec 22nd 1979 (with the usual first hour deleted):

http://www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/12-22-79.pdf

And Casey's '80s is from Dec 26th 1987:

http://www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/12-26-87.pdf

Question is, with most stations in all-Xmas mode that weekend...  will we even get to hear either of these?

I don't know... that might not be the worst 85 request ever. Didn't sound too much different than "Misled", which has also been lost to history.

WOS4: The Goat

I don't get it. Stevie Nicks? Obviously, I'd give a WOS for this chart to Starship. Probably the only song on this chart that I'd do that to (although repeated airings of "Separate Lives" would invariably do the trick).

for those who might be underwhelmed by a truncated 1979 chart on Saturday (assuming CKRU actually runs it and not Xmas stuff)... Rewound Radio

http://rewoundradio.com/

will be running a four-hour, unedited Dan Ingram show from WABC in Dec of 1969 -- when all the songs are from the station's "Top 100 of 1969". It will air at 9 Pacific/noon Eastern. Sounds awesome to me (and Gaz should def check it out if he's near a computer at that hour)

Been listening to the Ingram thing for the last hour-and-a-half; it's wonderful.  And BTW, CKRU are not running the 1979 chart; they went with a Casey Xmas special instead.

As is tradition at this time of year, We'll be getting "Top Hits of the Year" countdowns. That '70s Casey gives us the Top 40 Singles of 1973:

http://www.945litefm.com/pages/CaseyKasemTHE70s.html

And Casey's '80s has Part One of the Top 100 of 1983:

http://www.mix1077.com/pages/CaseyKasem.html

and here's an interesting history of Casey's year-end countydowns and how they were compiled/presented:

Not much to say other than I'm enjoying this flashback to what is one of the more sledgehammery years of my life.  But -- eeek! -- WOS Donna Fargo's godawful "Funny Face", tho' it's not as skippidy-doo-dah-dreadful as her other hit, "Happiest Girl in the USA"

uno momento poquito: sounds like an extended outro on "Pillow Talk". Nice teddy. or nice daddy. or something.

OMG: Jose F has a whole thread going on FB about this Casey countdown.

a twin-spin for the ages: Cher's "Half Breed" followed by "Night the Lights Went Out in GA", written for Cher but rejected by Sonny -- he didn't want to offend "our Southern fans". But a song called "half breed" couldn't possibly be offensive??

all the downtown ladies call it TreeTop Apple Juice... all the men just call it cider.

Just switched to Magic 98's Casey-thon: a 12/11/76 show beginning with Dr Buzzard and Kenny Nolan.

ooo! Tavares, "Don't Take Away the Music"!

I've been listening w/out comment (I'm making sauce for lasagna) but jeezus this Donny & Marie cover of "Soul & Inspiration" (from '78) is unspeakably horrid, even for them.

OMFG: Magic 98 is playing the full-length 45 mix of the WKRP song!  Nicest surprise of the day.

The first hour of this Top 100 of 1983 is quite the cheezefest: Frank Stallone, Loverboy, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Asia and the Tubes when they were crappy. Think I'll pass...
