BOS for the mighty Neville Brothers.  This song's been heavily played on KFrOG, but I'd say the Nevilles are underrepresented on 10at10.

Say, what do the stars mean?

Not exactly sure, but urth the moderator (of this subject) has green stars, and Geoff the grand pubah has purplish ones.

I think you're right, my stars turn green over on the Regional 10@10's forum where I am the moderator (and Urth's are yellow again).  BTW, I used to be the moderator of the Mondegreens, etc. forum, but seems like no one is now.

I was wondering that too--and for some reason mine are green. Not sure if that changes in other forums where I don't have moderator privileges.

I'll give a resounding ho-hum to Paradise City, a song built on three nonsensical lines and one riff. (Tanc: Anyone read the Chron article on the extended wait for Chinese Democracy?)
Let's get right to it.

they seem to come with the rankings; I don't really get it yet.

I dunno -- we all have 5 stars, but the colors differ on some. Yet Davefish and I both have 5 gold ones, even though I have 26,000 more posts than him.

BOS GnR, it may not get more interesting than this today.

I guess those are brown/gold stars you got (not purplish).  I think it is about your rights on the board.  You have everything rights, urth has moderator right.

We've heard this "trying to divide ice from snow" song before, but I'm blanking.  VHM anyway.

It hasn't been played for a year, but it still ranks as a first-tier Katrina, as does Jonny Clegg.

Kudos for the GnR though.

I smell some more Katrinas coming...The Call, Chris Rea, FYC...but first I can give a BOS to little-heard Del Amitri.

"This Side of the Morning" is the title.  Del Amitri as noted above, an LP Dave has played 5 different tracks off of, just to confound us when we complain about him being unimaginative in this year.

Hah!  Dave must have been listening to Ginger this morning when she played L&R in her '87 set and mentioned that "2 years later they would hit it big with 'So Alive'".

Yeah, this spin probably puts it over the threshhold.

"Love Song" was easily the song I heard most often in 1989, followed by "Sowing the Seeds of Love" and one that would be an across-the-board breakout, Starship's "It's Not Enough."

BOS2, The Cure.

Robert Smith saves the world from Mecha-Streisand. Again.  That ep of South Park never gets old.
