Lesser-known Rickie Lee Jones: "We Belong Together."

Even lesser-known Blasters.  First time I've heard "Marie Marie" on the radio, iirc.

Nice first half!

Good on Ginger! Giving some love to the original P-Furs version of Pretty In Pink, long before John Hughes got hold of it.

OH NO it's one of my WOAT candidates: "Mercury Blues."  Sorry, fans of the song - just not my bag.

To each their own. This album was my soundtrack for the summer of 81. There's other songs I like better on it (Quarter of a Man, Ain't No Way), but of the various versions of Mercury out there, I'll still take this one.

BOS to the Neville Bros., title cut off Fiyo on the Bayou, an album I wouldn't discover for a few more years.
Let's get right to it.

Trivia answer: The Blasters (Dave & Phil Alvin) and the Psychedelic Furs (Los Hermanos Butler).

Yeah, I had to go back thru the posts to realize the Blasters was the second of them--they didn't occur to me right off.
