KHUM/CG/KPOO/etcetcetc for the week of 2/12/07
« on: February 12, 2007, 08:57:56 AM »
so this weekend I tried the KPOO player on my home computer -- it worked perfectly fine. The player opened, that black rectangular box was not there, and the station came in loud & clear.

So I thought "Yay! they fixed it", but no. I just tried it here at work, and it's the same old story. How is that possible? My versions of Windows and WMP are older at home than at work. WTF?

Something in your office firewall is blocking your access to the KPOO site? Just a guess.
Let's get right to it.

Dunno. The KPOO site comes up just fine, and the player opens -- but it LOOKS different at work than at home (and that change in appearance just happened a few weeks ago); this just doesn't make sense!

Not trying to rub it in, but Judge is spinning somewhat funkier (and cowbell laden) version of Edgar Winter's Free Ride.

And now I've got buffering--hope I don't miss the backsell.

ETA: Caught it--it was Tavares!
Let's get right to it.

"More cowbell!"

Damn -- we discussed that version here recently, Gaz & I both have never heard it. Damn again!

Cheezy early-'80s Eurodisco: "Hands Up" by Ottawan. Hey, it beats Boney M.

WLNG Nugget o' the Day: Dusty S's fab "Look of Love". Shockingly, the song was nominated for an Oscar in '67... and lost to...

"Talk To The Animals". Sad but true.

WLNG Nugget 2, and a def OMGWTF!: Frida, "Something Going On". I can't believe Dave's never played this, given his ABBA fixation.

'LNG has been really spectacular today. here's Pet Clark, "This Is My Song" (the long version with the extended intro) -- this may push me over the edge towards going to see her show Sat nite.

Go!  It'll be great when you're ...
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
