The US hit version was by Keith. (Just... Keith) I can't guarantee it was him you heard, but I don't know of any covers.

Just heard both Gladys Knight's Help Me Make It Through The Night and the original Devil Went Down to Georgia on Dean's show (not sure if it was censored or not--wasn't paying close attention). Both great!

Sadly, though, they left off the spoken-word intro (which I call "Gladys Imagines Happy People") -- priceless.

Didn't like the Roxy version of "Jealous Guy," though -- gimme Donny Hathaway's version over that any day.
