I'm listening to the Dutchie station, and am finally hearing the H&O version of "I Can Dream About You." How did they manage to take every aspect of the cool arrangement out of this song? Darryl sounds like a shadow of his former self... Give me Dan Hartman any time.

Wow, that's sad to hear. Seemed like a perfect matchup of song and artist. Maybe Mike McDonald can cover it next. I dream about him...

BTW you're missing Yes, "Leave it" on KFOG :D

You mean the one that's gonna win you the Diane Warren Award For Respectable Songwriting?

"Time to be Lovers" from Beverly Hills 90210: the Soundtrack, circa 1992. The snippet I heard on Amazon sounded pretty sappy, but it's all we got.

Wow.  That was, like, the most minimalist hit EVER.  She was dating Lenny Kravitz for a while (I know, I know, who wasn't) ...

i think it would have been the other way around. but that would explain the minimalist approach. as for lenny kravitz...well, now i can't stop picturing tara, johnny and lenny in bed together. and it looks like buzzing flies.

ok, i have no idea what tara kemp looks like.

OMGWFTLOL!

now on CG, the original Brit version of "Rock'n'Roll (I Gave You the Best Years of My Life)" by Kevin Johnson (an Aussie, actually). A flop in the US but later made a hit by Mac Davis.

HE KEEPS DOING IT! everytime i email andy peebles with a request he plugs my music. so swell, so swell. i simply must go to manchester and buy him a drink, even if he's not going to play donny hathaway.

he mentioned some song he's going to play that's number one here, and said i'd know all about it (since i'm american). mario, "let me love you." i've never heard it. but i suppose i will soon...

smooth fm rules.

He played it yesterday and said it's been #1 in the US for "8 or 9 weeks". I'm clueless, and frankly thought it was rather bland. Gaz will know the chart scoop, I'm sure.
