at the beginning of the song, I can't tell the difference between the Jon and Vangelis version, and the Donna Summer version!

Thank you for confirming my (relative) sanity. I kept thinking "but I thought this was a Jon Anderson song, but this ain't him..."

Oh god, not the Stray Cats, please, no,  not them!!!
Let's get right to it.

As admin, I see a list of people who are online, and except for youngster POC, it seems to be the older crowd, which makes it hard to deal with an 80's set!

oh, don't be such an ageist.

one of Dave's favorites.  I have this on vinyl, and really liked it.  Even though it's kind of proggy.

I was thinking the same thing.  Even though RtT is a good song, I'm just sick of it, especially in association with the format change.  Rodney Dangerfield, on the other hand, is always welcome
And I always enjoyed Saga.  I have this vague vision of the video with a guy in spandex with a rather pronounced, errrr, codpiece.

I'm not saying this as a dis to the 80's (even if I feel that way) I'm remarking that I didn't have much to say about music I'm not too familiar with!  I was listening to KFOG then, but not a lot stuck with me.

I kinda figured that, but since I'm gullible, and since I don't think I was being that clear, I felt like elaborating!

I'm not a big basher of Men at Work, but this doesn't wear well at all in my opinion.

I like the paranoia aspect of it, but the sax is egregious.

VHM for the Jam -- sure to garner a good portion of BOS votes.  I bet Jose votes for it.

Yup, can't have it both ways in the same year.  Maybe a vertical tasting of Paul Weller...

Good morning, gang. Yes, I'm alive and well. An unexpected "sick day" which we'll get to in a minute...

First, the set, which I listened to in bed as I struggled towards consciousness.  Talk about Morey's Greatest (1982) Hits!  Pretty much all Dave staples,  except the VERY welcome BOS, "Town Called Malice". VHM Ms Summer, jablamadi, jablamada, pousse pousse.

Sorry to have missed the earlier sets (I haven't gone thru the postings yet) but last nite my computer suffered a massive SPAM attack.  On a normal day I get 75-100 emails, about 90% of which are SPAM. I download and delete (takes 10 minutes) and move on.

But last nite, I signed on around 9:00 and had 2700 emails waiting for download. I have dial-up, which meant this took over 7 hours to do. And since I often lose my connection, I had to actually sit there and monitor it, or else I'd've had to start over from scratch.  Got to bed at 4:30, set the alarm for 7, called in sick and went back to bed.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round
