29 March 2017: early '60s Rock Chicks!
« on: March 29, 2017, 09:01:01 AM »
The last of DW's Women's Month sets -- the songs are all short so this one goes to... 20!!  All songs from 1965 or earlier! Woo freakin' Hoo!

This set is a stone gas!  Out of 20 songs I count 6 or 7 that qualify as obvious oldies-format staples, and the rest are rarities. Terrific stuff, you get the picture? (Yes, we see!)

Gonna give this one a listen after lunch.  Been a while since I bothered actually listening to a set - I should probably stop previewing.

Right there with you on all counts. A few familiar ones but mostly rarities and early versions of songs made popular by others (a pre-Jerry Lee Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On, anyone?).  And the Ruth Brown song that finishes the set is just a stunner. Great set, front to back and top to bottom.
Let's get right to it.
