The Peak, week of 8/10/15
« on: August 11, 2015, 12:36:22 PM »
Mon 8/10/15: Aug 1972

got to hear this one while waiting to check out of my hotel in DC.  A few uber-LNs (like "Go All the Way" and "Long Cool Creedence in a T-Rex") but a very nice segue from Cashman/West "American City Suite" (the loooong version) to John & Yoko's "New York City". Que Pasa Noo Yawk, indeed.

1. The Hollies/Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)
 2. The Kinks/Celluloid Heroes
 3. The Who/Join Together
 4. Bill Withers/Use Me
 5. The Rolling Stones/Rocks Off
 6. The Raspberries/Go All The Way
 7. David Bowie/Starman
 8. Cashman & West/American Suite City
 9. John Lennon/New York City
10. Emerson, Lake & Palmer/From The Beginning

Thur 8/13/15: Aug 1967

should be thankful for '60s but I surely never need to hear "White Rabbit" ever again.

OTOH: BOSes for "SF Nights" and Re-Ree's "Baby I Love You"

BOS3 BufSpgfld "Bluebird"

Harry Reasoner meets hippies --> Dead, "Golden Road etc" which AL played in one of her homegrown SF sets.

BOS4 Rascals "Girl Like You"

BOS5 Doors "The End"

Bonnie & Clyde --> "Pleasant Valley Sunday"

Jimi, "Hey Joe"

The 3rd of June makes an unexpected appearance on the 13th of August.

and we "go to 11" with the Beatles "All You Need is Love", luv.  I guess "no one you can lay that can't be laid" wouldn't've gotten on the radio.

Zho Co-KAIR, "When the Night Comes"

B-52s "Channel Z" geta VHM for not being "Love Shack"

BOS2FRA George Harrison, "Cheer Down" -- that's 2 Wilburys; will we get the whole group too?

U2 "All I Want is U" -- OK, I'm officially knda bored.
