Good sense of humor. Dolly Does Dylan. heh heh

In Dylan's dreams. Maybe 20 years ago, not now.
Let's get right to it.

I shit you not...

on channel 7, watching news while I grade papers, they are interviewing some bike rider in the area of Hawk Hill, where a woman was murdered, and you can hear very clearly in the background "Dirty Laundry!"

As long as she wasn't murdered by someone kicking her when she was up, followed by kicking her when she was down . . .

Roger Waters' big benefit production in Berlin 1990; I had never seen this before.  Cyndy Lauper, Joni Mitchell, Sinead O'Connor, Van Morrison, and many more.  what a trip.  Speaking of music  on the tube, the Chet Helms party is supposed to be streamed all day tomorrow.

So I turn "Trading Spouses" on just to see the "Gore-guiles" medusa in its full context, and I realize: Holy shit, the OTHER wife is PAUL FUCKING STANLEY!

we've been watching "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" tonight, and I asked Martha if she'd heard the song "31 Flavors" that's playing while Dick Shawn and his girlfriend are grooving around in swimsuits.  I asked, since Martha's dad used to own the B&R in Santa Clara near Lawrence Expy and Homestead.  Well, lo and behold, Martha opened up her piano bench, and had the sheet music!

kind of an interesting show, going through the bad years now, but some great music snippets: James Brown, Queen, Cowboy Junkies, Fine Young Cannibals.

OMG did anyone else see the Tom Jones special earlier on one of the PBS stations?   A TV special from 1981,  in which he did many of his hits (including my personal fave, "Daughter of Darkness") as well as covers like "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and "Can't Turn You Loose".  TJ looked fab back then, tho' the quartet of female dancers all looked like '70s porn actresses.  Look for it, I'm sure it'll be rerun a buncha times this month.

Oh. My. God.

(and I don't mean that in a good way...)

I'm watching the ESPN New Year's Eve thing, mainly because Little Steven is involved. The Troggs, looking rather old, just did "Wild Thing, and now they're using the Caesars' "Jerk it Out" as the background for a sports montage.  Host Stuart Scott is embarrassing himself even more than I thought possible (even for him).  And as much as I worship Mr Van Zandt, he really needs to take that multicolored schmatta off his head.  Dude, yer pushin' 60.
