One of the greatest hitters of all time.  Look up his stats.

I remember Nantucket Sleighride.  But I haven't listened to it in years.  I'll have to Apple Tunes it...

The longtime host of “Jeopardy!” succumbed to prostate cancer:

Actually, "What is pancreatic cancer?"

But whatever.  RIP Alex.  Pretty much watched Jeopardy! every night since the 80s, if I was home.

There's Geoff!  I fully expected a response when it happened and was a bit worried.  Good to here from you my friend.

He was an One-der, for sure.

Tom Hanks actually said that in a tweet.

KFOG isn't merely dead, it's really most sincerely dead: Next Friday, 9/6/19, the station will flip to being an FM simulcast of KNBR.

Yep, there it is...

So, earlier this week, channel 2 news reported that KFOG will be no more as of 9/6, and will be simulcasting KNBR from then on.

Probably somewhere else in the posts I'm way behind on...

KCSM is already running promos for their Autumn Pledge Drive -- which is 3 weeks away (begins Labor Day wknd). Guess they were spooked by the shortfalls they had during the last 2 drives.
Isn't there a change in ownership/license?

You're thinking of the TV station. I'm talking about KCSM-FM, aka "Jazz 91"

The TV station (KPJK) is interesting, with a lot of Native American programming.  I recently read "There, There", a debut novel by Native American author Tommy Orange.  It's set in Oakland and relates stories of "urban" Natives.  Not a happy novel, but very good.  It's well worth checking out.

This is pretty funny:  Trump tweets "Isn't it ironic?" and the twitterverse goes all Alanis on him.  He oughta know better.  Heh.

60's Watch - The Bone played "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" Sunday afternoon.  They probably don't go back to '65 too often, but it does happen.

"I Love You" by (San Jose's own!) People, used for the latest "Got Milk?" spot.

I find that commercial to be extremely disturbing.  And I think it's a retread campaign, I seem to remember it from a year or two ago.

From an article on Slate.com:

Quote
A California teacher who was a reserve officer for the local police department and trained in firearms accidentally fired a loaded gun in his classroom on Tuesday.

It's really hard to fire an unloaded gun.

I was on a fairly long road trip yesterday (you can't get anywhere fast from Santa Rosa) and listened to the Bone for much of it.  Playing the 60's game...

At one point (I was on Highway 37), the dj talks about how "Ruby Tuesday" was a number one hit on this day back in '67 for the Stones.  But then he plays Shattered from '78.  I don't know, maybe '67 is too far back.

Anyway, a bit later, he plays "Dazed and Confused", so that's one.  And then, after a ballad from LA Guns (!), he plays Cream, "White Room".  So there's two.
