BOS Buffet, "A Pirate Looks At Forty".

This is the good Jimmy, the John Prine-Steve Goodman influenced Jimmy.

Ditto -- I was just about to say "Buffet before his themes calcified into schtick".  A lovely song.

I'd give BOS to Chaka and Rags-to-Rufus, but wasn't this '73?

the LP possibly, but the single hit in '74. But the Doobs were a definite error.  (2 mistakes in one set would be uncharacteristic of Ginger.)

My memory puts it in the summer of 74, along with Lady Marmalade and Clap for the Wolfman.
Let's get right to it.

BOS to "Time Waits for No One," probably in my top 5 Stones songs of all.

Clap, for the Wolfman, came after he met Lady Marmalade.

*RIMSHOT!*

BOS4 Stones, this LP really was a late '73 release but still charting in '74.

1. CITIZEN KANE (1941)
2. CASABLANCA (1942)
3. THE GODFATHER (1972)
4. GONE WITH THE WIND (1939)
5. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962)

According to the AFI these are the top five movies.  Which of the them didn't win Oscars in the categories Best Picture, Best Director & Best Screenplay?  (all received noms in all three categories)

I'm thinking Kane and Casablanca didn't win Best Pic.

One of the Oscar Bloggers has suggested The Academy start giving "Hall-of-Fame" type awards each year -- a sort of retro-Best Pic Oscar to rectify past oversights. Kane would be a shoo-in, and I'm sure we can all think of others.

BOS(X) (I've lost track) to John and John, Whatever Gets You Thru the Night.
Let's get right to it.
