1. CITIZEN KANE (1941)
2. CASABLANCA (1942)
3. THE GODFATHER (1972)
4. GONE WITH THE WIND (1939)
5. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962)

According to the AFI these are the top five movies.  Which of the them didn't win Oscars in the categories Best Picture, Best Director & Best Screenplay?  (all received noms in all three categories)

I'm thinking Kane and Casablanca didn't win Best Pic.

One of the Oscar Bloggers has suggested The Academy start giving "Hall-of-Fame" type awards each year -- a sort of retro-Best Pic Oscar to rectify past oversights. Kane would be a shoo-in, and I'm sure we can all think of others.

Actually Casablanca is one of the 2 that won all three awards, however it was shut out in the remaining 5 categories in which it got noms, including Bogie for Best Actor.  Citizen Kane only won 1 Oscar, and you're right that it wasn't Best Pic.

And props to Ginger for slipping in the Darren McGavin clip from Night Stalker.

Yet another BOS, FMac Bermuda Triangle, from the Bob Welch era.
Let's get right to it.

Woo Hoo! always love to compare/contrast Dave & Ginger '70s sets.

This is more innovative than Dave's

BOS5 Darren McGavin as Kolchak!

Mr Welch w/ F.Mac?  Didn't realize there were TWO songs on that album about the same subject.

so the answer is:  Citizen Kane didn't win Best Picture NOR Best Director, The Godfather didn't win for Best Director, and Lawrence of Arabia didn't win for Best Screenplay.
