don't think so, sounds like the one I've always heard.  I loved this video!

Probably not a bustout, but I don't believe we've heard it in awhile.

A bust-out, along with Santana, and it's one of this set's few high points.

And back to the depths we go. This version of Yes bore little resemblance to the one I revere from 6 or more years previous, although it probably put some significant cash in their bank accounts.

ITA, but, as with Genesis, I still like some of their more popular '80s hits, even though I bemoaned
the fact they moved away from prog rock into a more mainstream sound.

Testament -- one of the saddest movies I have ever seen.

OMFG: turn around, Bright Eyes!  BOS Bonnie Tyler for cheeze factor alone.

Was wondering if it were that or The Day After. Yes, I remember being profoundly affected by it too, particularly the scene with the mother and son dancing to the Beatles. Needed a strong drink afterward.

Never heard of that movie... I thought it was The Day After too.  (I haven't seen either one.)
In any case, I was totally expecting 99 Luftballoons next.

I recall that in 1983 there was a widespread, almost palpable sense that we were headed for
a nuclear showdown with the USSR.  Reagan was in full bluster about the Communist threat to
freedom,  plans for the MX missle system were being discussed, the Strategic Defense Initiative
(aka "Star Wars") was proposed, there was the KAL 007 incident, and in November, The Day
After aired.  It wasn't just the anti-nuke activists... lots of everyday people worried that we
were on the brink of nuclear annihilation.

1983... perhaps the strongest year of the '80s, so more is to be expected.  But this set didn't
deliver.  A couple of high points, three or four okay tracks, and not even any outstanding
clips.  No truffle for the blind pig today.

I don't think the song is bad enough to be a HFH, and I can grudgingly appreciate why it might
be so popular.

I've done a lot of wine tasting around Northern California, and sometimes when you're trying a
wine that you think is not very good, the pourer will ask you flat out if you like it.  (Not a good
practice, in my book, and I think more knowledgeable staff know better.)  But rather than reply
bluntly that the wine sucks, I'd say "it's not my style."

Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart is... not my style.  (grin)
