I would VERY much like to believe that.

I think I've mentioned before that I'm on an email list with folks I went to Higth School with.  It started as a way for people to socialize, network etc (virtually all of them still live in Queens). It has degenerated into a generator of right-wing political spam, most of them are still conservative Catholics and assume that we all are.  Two weeks ago -- in the midst of Bush/Katrina -- someone sent us all this horrid "Open Letter to Cindy Sheehan" that's been making the rounds. It trashes the woman. VERY offensive.  I replied to the sender and said "sorry -- you're timing's a bit off. This is NOT a good week to be sticking up for Dubya". And I had myself removed from the list.  But these people are not going to change their minds anytime soon. It's scary.

I checked Allmusic, came up with the same result. Would NOT have guessed that was Santana. But the composer was his keyboard whiz, Tom Coster, so that might explain its different sound.

ETA: Hope Geoff was able to listen in for this--he'd have dug it.

As Tom Tomorrow notes in this week's "This Modern World" -- what does George have to do to lose his core followers, bit the head off a live bunny?

It's also worth noting that the folks encamped at Camp Sheehan headed over to Pontchartrain (I think) where they are now of vital assistance in distributing donated food and medical and other supplies to evacuees.  Regardless of what anyone feels about Cindy's antiwar efforts, they should be applauding this one.
