Don't call us, we'll call you.

I was actually at that free Starship concert in Central Park that Bob mentioned.

Were you part of the mess or part of the clean up?

after hearing snippets of "Fame" & "Kashmir" in the sweep, I sure wasn't expecting "Sister Golden Hair", but I am kinda digging it.

Oohh, wow!  BOS #2 for "The Raven".  This is one of the really great concept albums (imho).

BOS Alan Parsons from the E.A.Poe collection! I guess we've dicussed the release date before, but I always associate this LP with '76 -- it didn't really catch on at radio until that summer.

Actually, according to IMDb he's 61 1/2.  DOB - 3/1/44

Agreed -- what a shame 20th Century Records was such a lame-ass label. This LP and early Ambrosia could've been MUCH bigger with decent promotion.

I'd say I had him confused with Macca -- but that'd be HIGHLY unlikely.

Is it just me or has "Fire On High" gotten more radio play in the past 15 years than it did in the first 15?

just a thought.

"Harry Truman" isn't a great song exactly, but it is certainly in that group of songs that Dave'll never play, so it sounds good this a.m.

ab-so-fuckin-lutely!

VHM Mel Brooks "In black and white -- no offense!"  And HM Chicago, I know some folks hate "Harry Truman" but I thought it rather ballsy to release something so out-of-their-usual-purview at the time.

Sorry, Bob, you're the first person I've ever heard refer to "One of these Nights" as being even remotely "disco".  Indeed the Eagles wrote several anti-disco songs as time went on.

Most certainly. It got some FM play when the album was released (although minimal in comparison with Evil Woman and Strange Magic), and then nothing til one of the networks picked it up as theme music for their NFL coverage, and from there it worked its way back into classic rock playlists.
Let's get right to it.
