11 July 2013: it's... 1993 (again??)
« on: July 11, 2013, 09:14:05 AM »
The year Harley-Davidson was 90 years old. Seriously, WTF, Renee?

Fuck: it's 1993. So we're back to two '90s sets a week? (actually THREE in the last 7 days, if you count Friday's '93 classic)

"Cannonball" a completely LN TOTHK, IMHO.

Van the Man/John Lee Hooker (?). Sorry, these '90s blues duets (there's one in every set, it seems) do nothing for me.

Oy: Cracker.

some might say it's the FUCKING ENDLESS version.  And I like this song but it's made one too many appearances for me.

This was song #2 in last Friday's classic '93, too. So glad their continuity folks are on the job... :P
Let's get right to it.

Seems long. I love Cracker but this song is a bit of a snooze.

Got a tattoo in Berlin
(and a case of the crabs).
A rose and a dagger
on the palm of my hand.
And I'll search the world over
for my angel in black.
Yeah, I'll search the world over
for a Eurotrash Girl.

William Orbit "Water From A Vine Leaf"

I'm not a big fan of this sorta stuff.

Considering Renee said there would be "ROCK!" this is pretty damn snoozy so far.

I'm digging Orbit. But the beat was so overused in the early 90's. Enigma, etc.

Ah, and Big Head Todd next. This was a good album despite what some of you think of the band as a whole.

You'll have to give me a schmaltz pass. Just went to my 20 year reunion, so a 1993 set is kind of apropos.

and I'm one of those. I call them Big Bore Todd and the Snoozesters.  ;)  I always thought they didn't get enuf criticism for an awful band name because Hootie & the Blowfish were around at the same time
