I dig this one. Dave used to play this a lot, but I haven't heard it since then, methinks. Love the jerky time signature weirdnesses.

It was dumb, whatever it was.

Boz et al got BOS, but she was shocked that the Beatles got no Best o' set votes from the fogheads. Could be an indication of how good some of the other songs were, or it might be that TBOJAY is not a particularly strong Beatles song.

I'd vote for both of those factors. It's funny, cause I was thinking of knee-jerk BOSing the Beatles (yay), but then I thought, no, this song really isn't very good, and is mainly notable for predictable overreaction by zealots thinking John is back on his bigger than Jesus kick again.

Yeah, "Puppy Brother".  It's a reference to a commercial in the series where the guy is talking to 4 kids and one of them goes off on some random kid thing.  In this one, the girl wants to turn her brother into a puppy so that she can take him to show and tell and say he is her puppy brother.

Both Renee and I watch too much television.

Indeed. So good. Is Steve Miller playing on this one?

ETA: Never mind. I guess I had my associations reversed...
Although, Steve Miller did show up in a guest spot for Boz Scaggs' historic Paramount Theatre concert back when it reopened.  It was also on KSAN, so there are copies around.

It's funny, I feel like I've heard this a lot lately, but it's such a stand out tune, I still enjoy it, as it reminds me of different live performances.

It was nice to hear the PSA on the replay.  I just got back from Boston, where my wife attended a Returned Peace Corps Volunteers national convention.  I'm very impressed with these people, and definitely honor their service.  In most cases, they got very little in return from our government.  Even though many were teachers, most states don't even count their two years as service years towards retirement status.  One thing we did that was quite interesting was that my wife and I (she served in Zaïre) went out to an African restaurant for dinner Saturday night, and spent some time after dinner looking at the villages they lived in on Google Earth.  Definitely a bizarre experience!

The problem with that is The Court of the Crimson King is something of a FF.  21st Century
Schizoid Man is a bit frenetic and would be an awkward fit, while the lovely I Talk to the
Wind is on the snoozy side.

AL had started to play some of their '80s tracks like Elephant Talk and Frame by Frame
-- both of which took BOS when they appeared.  Another band on the "would love to hear more
of on 10@10" list.
