at least I'm assuming she's not back from Mexico yet. Should be a '90s rerun, I'm guessing.

Yup: 1994.  Green Day TOTHK.

As much as I like "Landslide", I can't abide the Smashing Pumpkins' version. Awful.

indeed. I like the Dixie Chicks but their version was also unnecessary. Nearly everything in this set annoys me in one way or another. WOS that Cranberries song.

BOS for Jeff Buckley. Overwrought goodness. And a good segue out of the Kurt Cobain story.

VHM for Soundgarden. These guys were one of my favorites of this era when I was listening to a lot of KOME alt-rock. (I think it was still called KOME...) Chris Cornell has a great voice.

Heh, no Dennis Erectus, even in them days. None anywhere now, sadly.

For my money, that's a pretty good lineup of songs (toss out Blues Traveler, and maybe the Cranberries) for 1994.

I'd pass on the Pumpkins, DMB and BT (Cranberries are on the fence), but generally I think there's enough to like in this set to make it worthwhile. However, a 9am phone meeting that went way long meant I heard only the last 3 songs.
Let's get right to it.

And in today's inverse version of my two songs, I could do without Petty & the Pumpkins.
Everything else was somewhere between okay to pretty good.
