Inspired by Renee's recent set, here's my 2nd visit to 1967:

 2. The Rolling Stones - Something Happened To Me Yesterday

fabulous stuff.  Hadn't heard that Stones tune in many a moon. The closing that Mick does there was somebody's sign-off on NYC radio but I can't remember who -- Scelsa? Alex Bennett?

This looks like a good mix. A question about the Mother Love Bone: is it Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns, which is how it appears on the Singles soundtrack, perhaps in a live version?

This version comes from their album Apple, which didn't have the "Chloe Dancer" opener.

All right. I don't think I've ever heard the studio version.

Ah, Cop Rock.  I liked that show.  I enjoyed many of the song and dance numbers, some of
which I recorded.  I have a small collection of tapes full of odds & ends, mostly music, from
all kinds of television programs.  I could probably find a lot of it on Youtube now.

It won't surprise you to hear that I found this one uber-wonderful. A watershed year for me personally, and except for the Womack which I didn't pick up on until years later, all those songs were part of the soundtrack.  "Superfly Meets Shaft" still sounds like it cost 5 cents to make.

2. Holly & Joey - I Got You Babe

another gem I hadn't heard in many a moon. VERY hard-to-find.  Only a 45 and never showed up on an LP, I don't think?

Enjoy!

One immediate comparison that jumps out is that the Strangeloves wanted to record Hang on Sloopy as the follow-up to I Want Candy but passed it off to the McCoys instead, and their version, of course, appeared on Renee's 10@10. I learned that by reading ggould's Wikipedia link.
