if it were up to me, I'd re-title this thread "10@10 Fan Fiction"

I'm working on a 1967, but at my rate, it may take quite a while.

How about "10@10 Revisionist History"?

One thread for people who create sets and share them, and another for fantasy sets.

So, if I don't get my shit together to actually produce a sound file, it's in the 'fantasy' category?

Something like that,  or maybe not...

I, for one, have potential topical set lists like "pop flute" that may never actually get
assembled/recorded.  I also keep lists of songs that share certain characteristics of interest
to me, and these could used as source material for other topical 10@10s.

Hey, this was great.  urth picked a good one in Boz Skaggs, whom I'll be seeing in Sept at the Fox.   But I gotta say, those Irish hippie gypsies sure did like their long songs back then.  Listen to the Lion clocks in at 11 minutes.  That Van guy really is a mystic.   And I liked your insert of Renée saying "Oooh, I lurve it," after the song (finally) ends.

Can we get Supper's Ready on your next channeling of 1972?  that would complete side two of Foxtrot.

"Listen to the Lion" and "Almost Independence Day" at 10:06 actually got a lot of play on KSAN back in the day.  This is one of my favorite Van Morrison albums.

You could add Tull's "Thick as a Brick" (not the single edit), also from '72, and the set would never end.

I remember that tour. I saw three consecutive nights at the Greek. I'd seen them a couple of times prior to that (all post-Gabriel however), but thanks to Supper's Ready, after those shows I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. They could have played nothing else but Abacab over and over for the entire night and I'd have still loved it. Ah, youth.

I remember it vividly -- mid-to-late 80s are in my wheelhouse in terms of musical knowledge (good or bad).

Liked Martika's debut single, then she had the huge HFH "Toy Soldiers", then she had the Carole King cover "I Feel The Earth Move".

Finally had an afternoon at the computer so listened to this in short bursts. Thanks so much for the Dinah Flo--one of Boz's more underappreciated songs, imo. But I found a lot of other things to bite down on here, too--St. Dominic's Preview is probably my all-time fave Van record, so hearing Listen to the Lion was awesome (and I'll register a vote for Redwood Tree or Gypsy--or both--next time you get a chance to slip a Van song into a 72 set). Love Van's Marin County period, which I consider the most productive and profound of his career. Also dug Les Brers, a fave off of Eat a Peach that I haven't heard in a long time.  And as I have revealed elsewhere, I'm a Genesis head from way back, so Horizons also provided a nice flashback. Liked the JA/HT twofer, and the JJ Cale, although I can't say I knew any of those songs before this.
